I fixed him breakfast, and our day started. He wanted lots of hugs. He asked me every few minutes when he was going to grandma’s house and who was taking him since last week our friends helped take him since I hurt my foot, but he knew I was taking him since it was better.
He asked if he would see a picture of his best friend when he was with his grandma. He loves seeing the picture, but he gets so overwhelmed with emotions when he sees it. He said, “Send picture to Grandma." I said I could, and he said no but then looked at me to see if I was doing it. I sent her the picture in case he asked to see it.
It was time to get ready, and he decided he wanted to take a bath and he wouldn’t get out. He wanted to “swim in the bath.” I’m hoping to find someone who would go with us over the summer since right now it’s hard for me to go swimming with everything going on with my infusions. He misses the pool.
I took him to his grandma’s, and he was there for several hours. My mom told me that he asked several times to see the picture of his friend, and she would show it to him. He even pulled the picture up on his phone several times. I wish I could get the boys together. Owen misses him so much and talks about him all the time. I’m hoping they will be back at the same school next year, and they can be together again.
We ordered lunch, but he had already eaten several things, so I saved it until we got home. On the way home, I told him I got him fish for dinner. He said, “Let’s go see the fish.” I told him we could go tomorrow. He loves looking at the fish in the big tank at Cabela’s. He ate all his fish when we got home.
He told me he wanted to go see all his old babysitters and started naming them. He doesn’t forget a thing. He asked his tablet to translate into different languages riding in one of our friends’ cars, and then he went through everyone else’s names.
Nighttime seemed like a slow process, but he was calm all night. We got ready for bed, and before I could go through all the steps, he said, “Dear God” and looked at me with his big eyes. I was so proud of him. It was the first time he started his prayer. He went on to say, “Thank you for Owen, Mommy, Grandma” and then listed his teacher, aides, our friends, and several other people he knows. He said, “Amen” and then one more hug before off to bed he went. My heart is full. My sweet baby O has a heart of gold. Dream the big dream and make it happen. You can do it. Smiles to all and donut daze!
