Owen came to me a little after five and declared he “slept upper night.” I told him he did. He wanted me to know he was going to school but not therapy. I told him that was right. He went on to tell me that he was riding the bus home and I told him that he certainly was. He was happy about that and off he ran with his tablet, yelling over his shoulder that he wanted some chocolate milk. That was my cue to get up.

The talk of the town was what he was going to do in August and when his holiday break was. He loves the new school he is at and when he is getting ready for his holiday breaks he is trying to process that he will go back to the same school. He also wants to make sure he will see his friends again so he asks about August to make sure he is going to be there. I wish I could tell him that he was for sure but I can’t promise him that.

He was happy this morning. I love hearing his laugh. It makes my day. He was watching videos and his pure belly gut laugh makes me laugh. I can’t help but laugh when he gets so excited about something. I had no clue what he was even laughing at because he had changed the translation to another language but his laugh was enough for me.

He was happy to be going to school and riding the bus home. I was hoping that would make him happy since he wasn’t having therapy today. When he got home from school he wanted to make sure he was staying home and no one was coming. I told him we were and he was very happy.

He was an eating machine tonight and he wanted me to no that his tooth was no longer cranky but I’m not sure if I believe him since he keeps talking a lot about it. He told me he didn’t want to go to the dentist until Wednesday so I’m not sure what to think about that. He wasn’t favoring that side of his mouth as much so hopefully, he won’t keep biting it through the night.

I felt really good today. The bandage where it rubbed me bothered me more than the actual incisions. I’m thankful for very little pain. I will know in the next few weeks if not sooner how everything went. I’m feeling very optimistic and I’m in it to win it. Owen is ready for me to grow my hair out but he is loving the bunny ears. I’m thankful for a good day.

Sleep did not come quickly for Owen because he wanted me to know his mouth was not cranky anymore. I’m still thinking it is a bit cranky but not like it was. We shall see how the night goes. I’m thankful for his laughter and his amazing smile. I’m so proud of all he is accomplishing and the connections he is making. Follow your heart and make your dreams come true. Smiles to all and donut daze!

I'm Lynn Browder. Owen's Mommy. The best moments in time are when I get to see the smile on his face and that giggle come from his heart.
