I fixed him his milk and cereal. He took them both at the same time to the table. This was a huge step for him and he’s made incredible progress. The occasional spill still happens but to watch him walk to the table holding both items at the same time was incredible.
We got ready for church and he was so excited his friend was going to be there to walk him to his classroom. He talked about it all the way there. He did great at church and we got his requested lunch on the way home.
He was slow to eat everything. Which led to one more never a dull moment around here. Owen came to me with a gleam in his eyes and gloriously said, “I put chicken in the toilet.” I asked him repeatedly if he did and he said yes. I got up to explore what to do next. He did not put anything in the toilet but he thought it was hilarious. He showed me a video the other day of someone doing this. Oh boy, the teenage years are coming.
He laughed a lot through the afternoon. He wanted me to be by his side for everything. We sat a lot and played games. He was focused on seeing his grandma, talking about a dog, making sure he was going to school and therapy tomorrow, and when he was going to high school. He kept me busy.
Bath time led to a quick bedtime. He was happy because it meant he was going to school. He checked numerous times with me to make sure that there was not going to be snow. It didn’t take him long to fall asleep once he was sure he was going to school. I’m thankful he was happy and excited about school. His laughter is exactly what I needed. Be joyful and share your heart. Let your inspiration guide your tomorrow. Smiles to all and donut daze!
