Owen said, “Slept upper night.” He slept until almost six and I can tell he is starting to realize how to phrase his words. I only woke once. One sip of water sure makes my bladder feel like it needs to inform me of how the night will go.

He was very ready for his day and I hadn’t even told him that he would be going trick or treating after therapy. I knew if I told him there would be so much on his mind and I wanted him to have a calm day.

We got ready for school and he kept trying to tell me something he wanted his teacher to know. Some words he struggles with saying and when he wants to ask me again about something I have said it can be hard for him to figure out the right order of the words. He said something that sounded like “September seventh” but I wasn’t sure. I was finally able to figure it out later in the day. I had told him that he would have his teacher for “several years” and he wanted to make sure she knew it.

I picked him up from school to go to music therapy. That is when I told him about the trunk or treat tonight at his therapy place. I asked him if wanted to go and it was the quickest “yes” ever. He did pretty good at therapy but his focus came back to blue pants. His therapist was able to redirect him but it is always a big topic for conversation.

We came home for a little bit and then got ready for his vision therapy. I told him if he was yelling or got upset about what his doctor was wearing we would not be able to go to the trunk or treat. He didn’t yell but he did talk about it however he did so incredibly well with his exercises.

We left there and picked up some food. We sat by the water eating and then went to the trunk or treat. Owen asked the whole way there if he was going to see his best friend. I wasn’t sure but I hoped he would be there.

To see Owen’s face when he saw his best friend whom he hadn’t seen in months was priceless. It was so amazing and I’m so thankful. He could hardly even look at him he was so excited. He watched him from afar and then finally when they came back towards us he could get close to him. I heard him invite him to church, bowling, and the park. He talked about him all the way home and got out of bed numerous times to ask when he would see him again. Hopefully, we will be able to get the boys together again soon.

We got home and bedtime came quickly. He had a few things on his mind and wanted to know about all his favorite people. I’m so thankful for the love my sweet baby O shows to the people he cares about. To love with all your heart is all you can ask for. Let love be in your heart and share it with the world. Be the change you want to see. Smiles to all and donut daze!

I'm Lynn Browder. Owen's Mommy. The best moments in time are when I get to see the smile on his face and that giggle come from his heart.
