All the days are blending together. I woke up with a start last night. Between the noises and life once I was awake I couldn’t fall back asleep again. Owen’s day didn’t start quite as early as mine but he still proclaimed that he “slept upper night” even though it wasn’t even five in the morning when he got up. The chocolate milk and cereal request came in right away.

Yesterday I told Owen we had a meeting with our advisor. He went through the whole scenario of what to expect from her. He loves her but he wanted to meet her at the park like we had done a few years ago. When he has something on his mind he can’t let go of it. I told him we weren’t meeting her at the park this time. He started telling me the color of the car she drove, what she was wearing the first time we met her, what she was wearing at the park, and the list went on and on. Once we were done with our meeting he started asking about when we could see her again and if we could go to the park. I told him it probably wouldn’t be until March. He went through all the months before then and who he would see first.

Pepperoni rolls are a big thing here in West Virginia. They are generally about the size of a large roll with cheese and pepperoni. Yesterday Owen won the pepperoni roll of the month for his grade level and it was huge. He ate some at school and then he brought the rest of it home. It was more like the size of a calzone. He wanted the rest of it for lunch today. I asked him if I could have a bite of it and he said, “No.” I had to laugh. He wanted it all and loved every bite.

I had him help me when our groceries got delivered. He was not a fan of carrying all the bags from the front door to the kitchen but he did it. Each day I’m trying to give him more and more tasks that I know he will be able to accomplish. We are also working on ones that we have to do together with the goal that he will be able to do them on his own soon.

It was a fairly calm day. He asked to go bowling but they didn’t open until late and he didn’t want to go then. We will try to go another day on his break. I think he was ready for bed early because I told him I was going to give him extra time to play before we got ready for bed. He said no. He fell asleep quickly and I know I will not be awake for long. One day clicked off for his break and I know he is counting the days until he goes back to school. I’m thankful for a good day. He is ready to go see his grandma tomorrow and told me he had to “sleep upper night.” I pray he does. Let inspiration come and then share it with the world. Watch how your life will change. Smiles to all and donut daze!

I'm Lynn Browder. Owen's Mommy. The best moments in time are when I get to see the smile on his face and that giggle come from his heart.
