He was very much ready to get to school. I am very thankful for how much he loves school and wants to go. He kept asking when he would see his teacher even though he knew he would see his teacher today. Try to get him to understand that things can happen and we don’t see people on certain days only because the schedules get changed. I think he understands but he still tries to put everything into perspective.
We got dressed and we went out to wait for the bus. Every day now he talks about crossing the street. I make sure that he understands that he cannot cross the street without me because he does not look for cars. I work every day with him on which way to look and to cross the street. He’s getting much better about it, but he still wants to talk about something that he knows he can’t do.
His teacher sent me a couple of pictures of him after they were working on an art project. He had taken the marker and written all over his face, arms, and some of his legs. He loves the feeling of using the markers on himself and does this often when he gets the chance. He is still a little blue, but I know it will fade.
He came home and he was very happy with himself. He was plotting and planning his next few days. He was eating his snack and talking about what he was going to do over the next few days. He kept asking if his teacher would be his summer school teacher. I kept trying for him to understand that we don’t know if she would be his summer school teacher. He might be confusing his new school with summer school and since it only lasts a few weeks he may think he should be doing something different soon. I don’t think he is confused because he usually understands his schedule, but it could be throwing him off about summer school.
I was feeling pretty good for most of the day. Usually the Friday and Saturday are pretty good after my infusion but the food starts to taste weird but thankfully what I had eaten all stayed down.
Owen had a good rest of his evening and fell asleep quickly because I’m sure he was tired from getting up so early. He had eaten all his snacks and most of his dinner. He can’t wait to go see his grandma tomorrow and I know he will have an incredible day. I’m thankful for all the progress he has made and I know that it will just keep growing. His laughter is music to my ears. Find what makes you happy and laugh until your heart's content. Smiles to all and donut daze!
