It wasn’t long before the food requests started. He wanted all of his favorites and my conclusion once again was that he is growing. I told him it was bedtime so he once again ran off to his bed. I think I fell back asleep for a few minutes and then he was back asking for food again. He ate all that I gave him and back to bed we both went. One of us was less hungry than the other because it wasn’t long again and there Owen was asking for more food. The morning began.
The questions continued from yesterday. He wanted to make sure when he would be back in school but he was more concerned with the weeks and months ahead. He can’t live in the now. Even when I try to get him to focus on today it becomes exhausting to keep him on track. I lose my focus on the words I’m supposed to keep track of and then in turn I answer him after he has asked the same question twenty or thirty times. I hope every day that by talking to him about his days he will make the connections so he doesn’t have to repeat himself as much.
We got dressed for church and he asked once again about his friends. As we were getting ready to walk out the door he asked for “ranch.” I knew this meant he wanted veggie straws. I got his snack and off to church, we headed. He was very calm in the car. He enjoyed church and we headed home. We got our lunch on the way.
My little eating machine ate all day once again. He is definitely on a growth spurt. He made me laugh all night with his giggles and stories. I’m thankful for his growth and I can tell he is processing how having days off are supposed to go. It’s a beautiful process to watch my sweet baby O grow.
