He was reciting all the restaurant orders he had eaten over what seemed like his lifetime and told me the order number of one of them. “This is Lynn number 63,” he said, and told me all about the drive-thru we were at. One restaurant gave a plaque to put on our window and he was going through that as well. I mean when you know stuff you know stuff and he knows all the stuff. The memories he has are incredible.
He next went through the color of the caps the bottles of “cow chocolate milk” have a different restaurants. He listed them off and as he was talking about them I had to think but I’m pretty sure he was right about each one. I’m not even quite sure why I’m second-guessing if he knew where the “green cap of cow chocolate milk” and the “brown cap of cow chocolate milk” came from. He knows.
He has said that “everything is closed until February.” I don’t feel as though he was that wrong. He listed all the days until next week and that is when he realized it was almost February. I was awestruck by the realization as well. How is one month of the year almost gone? He kept asking me about tomorrow so I told him everything was closed again and from there we got to February. It wasn’t much after that when I learned that they had closed the school again for tomorrow.
The number of things the dude has stored in his mind is incredible. Throughout the day he was finding videos on his tablet I know he hasn’t watched in years. I truly don’t know how he finds them after so many years but he has a way. It goes to show you that when there’s a will there’s a way. I’m thankful for all the lessons he has taught me on how to never give up.
I’m not quite sure how many outfits he changed to but he had that covered. He wanted to wear his “little blue jeans” and then his “designer jeans.” It amazes me all the things he talks about and shares with me. I’m so thankful for how far he has come and everything that he is doing. So blessed.
Bedtime did not take long after we discussed all the days that he would be staying home. I tried to explain to him that I didn’t know how many days he would be home from school so after he kept asking I told him he would be home with me for the week. He was much calmer about it all afternoon but he wanted to check when he went to bed if that was still correct. I agreed and he fell fast asleep. I pray for a calm night and that the weather stops wintering tomorrow. I’m thankful for his laughter. Find peace in your heart, sing the melody of your soul, and continue to pray for tomorrow. Smiles to all and donut daze!
