To quote him “upper night” for me and also kind of for him. A guy was screaming in the distance, and then closer, and then even closer, and then further, and then even further. I got up at some point, several times, to see what was going on. I could see him on my camera and the police were talking to him. He was yelling his cat’s name. This went on for hours.
At one point when I got up Owen was awake. He started talking to me and I told him that it was still in the middle of the night. He stayed in bed until “five oh oh” even though he was awake. That was huge. It shows incredible growth for him. I told him over and over how proud I was of him. For him to be up in the middle of the night and still stay in bed was incredible.
The screaming from Owen began when he got up. He wanted me to tell him what he was doing today even though he knew exactly what he was doing today because he was the one who planned it. I didn’t answer him every single time so the screaming began. After that, he sat with me in the “white bed.” He still wanted answers and tickles but at least he was calmer at this point.
He finalized his plans of meeting grandma and grandpa at Diehl’s for lunch and then going to their house. “Mommy go bye-bye,” he confirmed with all the interested parties. He wanted to make sure that he was going home with grandma so he could play his games and on her computer and I was going home so grandma could take him by the “blue church” three times before he came home. Confirmed and checked but that didn’t stop the train from derailing and him asking me a lot more times.
It was finally time to go eat lunch. He was ready. We got there first but the excitement exploded when they pulled up. We got seated and he was very happy to be there. I once again was so proud of him because he ate so much and drank water because they don’t have chocolate milk. He ate all of his fish and his sage dressing. Plus he ate some of my baked steak, green beans, and potato cake. He used his fork and dipped his fish in the tartar sauce.
When we got up from the table we were putting our jackets on and he said, “Jackets bleeding.” At least this time he didn’t scream it across the restaurant. I cannot wait until he cycles out of this trend. He was off to Grandma’s house and I came home. He stayed with her for a few hours and then after three trips around the “blue church” she brought him home.
She dropped him off and asked me to take the video. He always wants a video of her leaving. She hugged us and as she was getting in her car he said, “I appreciate you so much thank you grandma love you grandma appreciate you.” He was so right we love her so much. I love how he is expressing his feelings more and saying it to people he cares about. I got his video and he was thrilled.
One more day and he will be back in routine. He was once again ready to take his supplement way before bedtime. “How much time on my timer” was his repeated request throughout the day and as nighttime came it was said hoping to get closer to that one more day until school starts again. For a day that was the opposite of routine, he did incredibly well and I’m so proud of him. Take the victories when they come and know that each day is a gift. Let your light shine bright. I promise you someone needs to see it. Smiles to all and donut daze!
I hope the person found their cat.
