We then spent the morning talking about licking everyone’s head. He thinks it is hilarious. I’m not quite sure how to talk him out of that. I don’t know what else to do about the licking. I have some lollipops but he doesn’t want them so maybe I will have to try something else to see if he will change his mind.
He was very excited about his day and couldn’t wait to get to school. Now that I have talked to him about his behavior and referencing how I will have to talk to his teacher about how to handle things like screaming he seems to be calmer when I ask him not to scream at me. I feel like it is a good connection for him and I’m happy that he is thinking through his behavior more. We stood out waiting for the bus and he said he was going to make everyone happy today and I had no doubt he would.
When he got home he had a lot on his mind. He told me he no longer goes to daycare, he wanted to go to the “city lie-berry” with his grandma, and he couldn’t wait to go to school tomorrow and therapy. He kept listing places he wanted to go but I always have a hard time convincing him to go anywhere. He was in a good mood though and that carried through the night. He was also ready to eat an eraser and lick heads but thankfully I was able to distract him from those conversations.
Next week is a busy week for us with many appointments for both of us. It will throw him off even though he is looking forward to his appointments. He loves going to see his different doctors for well checks and follow-ups but it is also hard on him because he doesn’t get to do his regular schedule with the bus.
He randomly said, “Pajama pants” and I asked him what he meant. He said his dentist wears pajama pants. I said, “What kind of pants does she wear” totally forgetting that they occasionally wear pajamas during the holidays for the kids. He reminded me of this but told me she would not be wearing blue scrubs but would be wearing scrubs the next time he saw her. The dude does not forget a thing and keeps me on my toes.
The night was filled with laughter and mischief but thankfully he was calm and bedtime went quickly. I pray for sleep tonight for both of us. His smile lights up my day and fills my heart with joy. Believe in yourself, know that tomorrow is a brand new day, and focus on the good stuff. Smiles to all and donut daze!
