He was very talkative all morning and in a great mood. It was “church church church” day and he couldn’t wait to go. He kept talking about when we were going and then he would ask about his teacher. He wanted to make sure he was going to see her tomorrow and I asked him what were we going to do first thing in the morning. He wouldn’t say he was going to the dentist. He kept saying that he was going to his teacher. I told him and he said no. It took me a while to convince him he was going to the dentist first even though he wanted to go.
We got ready and we left for church. On the way there he asked if we could pick up his best friend so he could go ride the elevator to his class. I told him hopefully another day. He was very excited when he got to church because he was going to ride the elevator with his other friend.
He did great at church and he wanted to stop and get chicken nuggets on the way home. He started talking about me growing my hair back and told me that it would be yellow hair once again. He talked about going to the pool and my hair would be wet so I would need to use a hairdryer. He wanted me to go down the “do not enter” road but laughed and knew it was something we couldn’t do. We got home and he ate all of his lunch.
He kept saying he wanted his therapist to “make a choice” about her pants. I told him that it was her choice what she got to wear and he said he wanted her to wear blue. He then told me he would spit on her pants. I asked him if that was fair and he said no. I asked him what we should be giving his therapist and he answered “Kindness and grace.” He knows the answer, but he still has a hard time processing it.
I never imagined I would have to tell my child to stop licking my head on a daily basis. The more I show emotions about it the more he laughs and wants to do it. He was very calm for the rest of the evening and sat with me before bedtime, wanting me to watch his videos with him. It didn’t take him long to fall asleep and I’m hoping that he sleeps all night again. I’m thankful for his incredible smile and it always fills my heart with joy.
