He slept a tiny bit later so that was good. He was very happy about his day. He wanted to confirm that all the Christmas lights will be gone today so we have been singing Christmas carols all morning. I told him that it would probably take the week for the lights to all come down.
And he was off. Whoa, that gets your heart pumping. He was so ready for this morning to happen and he couldn’t wait to tell me all the things he was going to do today as the bus approached. He had helped me carry out the trash bags so that was a bit of a distraction but not truly one he wanted to do but at least he is understanding it is something we have to do now. Happy back to school day!
I went to pick him up from school for his music therapy and his teacher said he was very quiet but did all the work he was asked to do. I think he was excited to be back in routine so he was soaking it all in. When he was in the car I told him that his physical therapist let me know she would be back from “eternity leave” on Thursday. He was so happy. He knew she was coming back in January but I told him we had to wait until the office let us know. He was so thrilled that his week was going to be complete.
He did great at his music therapy appointment. She said he picked out a book that was great for him and he was very focused. He missed his routine and once again I think he was all in for doing his exercises. On the way home we discussed what he wanted for dinner. He went back and forth between pizza and chicken.
He has been very concerned about the Internet every time we come home. I need to get the backup to my backup going so it won’t be a probably again. He did great with his vision therapy. He was able to do several exercises and we learned that he has a hard time seeing things above and below him. She had him try to catch a ball above his head and he couldn’t process that. By the end, he was following the ball as she held it above his head.
We our pizza on the way home and I liked the way he combined the toppings this time and so did he. He wanted the meats on one side and the veggies on the other. The night went quickly with him being very clingy and asking when he was going to school tomorrow. I’m thankful he is back in routine and so is he. Each day is a gift. Let today be the steps for your amazing future. Smiles to all and donut daze!
