He kept asking me for the foods he knew we were out of. They didn’t have sausage dogs last time I tried to get them and he ate the last of the waffles yesterday so those were the two things he wanted. He also ate eggs with me yesterday but didn’t want them today. He however ate all of his cereal and pancakes by that time he was ready to meet Grandma for their day full of adventure and fun.
This morning when we left to meet his grandma he wanted to go by the windows so I told him on the way home I would go the way I wanted to go. He was not pleased with this choice on the ride home. He screamed and then wouldn’t get out of the car when we got home. I finally convinced him to get out of the car if he wanted to go for any more rides. I am going to start taking turns with him every time we go anywhere. He always wants everything to go his way so hopefully we can start making choices together.
When we got home he started watching more videos he hadn’t seen in quite some time. He was focused on singing the alphabet backward. It truly amazes me how much he retains.
My mom sent home the pancake sausage dogs that she had at her house. She had tried to see if he would eat them there but he has set foods that he likes to eat there and they are not one of them. When we got home he asked for them for dinner. It is amazing how his rules pertain to food as well.
He woke up talking about seeing his teacher tomorrow, he talked to his grandma about seeing his teacher tomorrow and he went to sleep talking about seeing his teacher tomorrow. He handled this break-in routine really well but he is definitely ready to get back to learning and riding on the bus. I am so excited to see what happens next. He is thriving already so I know it will be his best year yet.
He was asleep quickly and I pray he sleeps all night. I know he is excited about tomorrow so I hope it doesn’t wake him up overthinking it all. I’m thankful he had a great day and I know he enjoyed his time with his grandma. His smile always wins the day and fills my heart with happiness. Find what makes you happy, cherish those moments, and make lasting memories. Smiles to all and donut daze!
