He knew he was going to the dentist and this made him very happy. He loves his dentist. He told me “Look at your teeth count your teeth” and then he started counting. He went on to tell me she would clean his teeth and he may have to get “feelings.” He watches videos about teeth all the time and is very fascinated by them.
He told me that I had to go to the doctor for an appointment but I told him it wasn’t until next week. He said that I would get medicine to feel better. I am trying to include him in as much of the process as possible so that he hopefully will understand more about it as the changes happen.
We got ready for his dentist appointment and off we went. He had grabbed his tablet that didn’t have very much battery but I didn’t check before we left. He was very calm about it and didn’t get upset when he didn’t have a tablet at his appointment.
His dentist is amazing with him. He kept making them laugh. He wanted to have a “feeling” so she could fix it. His teeth were fine. I had worried because he said he had a loose tooth but I couldn’t feel anything wrong with them. He was also biting his bottom lip so I wanted to have her check. She said that he could possibly be teething because he will be getting his back molars probably within the next year or so and since he is very sensitive he might be able to tell his mouth is adjusting.
He didn’t want to leave. She told him several times they were done and he kept saying no so he counted his teeth and then brushed his teeth. He was finally ready to leave. He was just happy as a clam to be there. She gave him a mirror to hold the entire time and he loved it. I’m so thankful for a staff that cares so much about their patients.
Then we went to the park. He kept telling me he was going on the slide but only stayed on the swing. He also didn’t want to leave there but then decided he was hungry so we came home. The dude ate lunch and as soon as he was done he asked for the same lunch a second time and ate all of it. I can tell he is growing.
He came to sit with me and we played on his tablet together. We laughed and he giggled when I talked to him about his day. His smile and his incredible laugh put the song in my heart. Let today fill your heart with gladness and know that every day can be amazing. Smiles to all and donut daze!
