Doctor after doctor, therapist after therapist all tell me the same thing Owen is brilliant and there is so much to his very complex brain. He has a way of remembering details that fit every single person and situation he has ever been in. He doesn’t forget a thing.
We are going to his swim lessons tomorrow and he has talked about the different times we have been there, repeating and reminding me of the tiniest details. These details may seem insignificant but to him, they are a group of knowledge that cast a net on all of his swimming experiences and puts them together. “Walking feet,” he said repeating it in the same tone and inflection that his instructor used. These details go back to when it seems impossible he should be able to tell me but he can. When your eleven-year-old son can tell you how to get to the daycare he went to when he was under two he is brilliant.
When he got home from school I could tell we were not going to the library. It was an interesting fifteen minutes when he first got home. They sent his school tablet home with him. This is a whole different level of tablet problems. And he was mad because I was taking him to the pool tomorrow and not having his grandma drive us. He had gotten in his head she should take us and that was something that wasn’t changing in his mind.
Having his school tablet at home means he constantly wants to play with the different apps that need passwords and he wants to download apps like games that he isn’t supposed to. Plus, he always wants to add YouTube to it. And once it’s home trying to hide it or take it away is adding even more emotions to our day. Thankfully he was calm as the night went on.
I am excited about his swimming tomorrow. I am not even going to think about it being Friday night. I’m praying that he will sleep tonight and we can go to the pool tomorrow and then he can spend the day with his grandma. He played music for me and I love hearing him sing. Very thankful for his love of music. Find what makes you happy and go after your dreams. Smiles to all and donut daze!
