We were back to the shrimp request for dinner. Then the epic meltdown happened. I need one of those smarter than me homes that takes over automatically. Our internet went out. At first, I thought it was our connection so I started going through the steps. Owen was not pleased. He wanted it back on. I tried to distract him but you can’t stop a moving train that is being conducted by an octopus ordering pizza wearing a red hat that says “go”. So I breathed. I knew he would be screaming and throwing things but I had to keep moving forward. I asked him to have patience with mommy and then I removed my slippers because I got down on the floor to look at our router and modem. This sent Owen into overdrive. This was not the moment for my shoes to be off and me to be on the floor. More screams and he tried desperately to put my slippers back on my feet. When that didn’t work he put them on his feet. And when that didn’t work I rocked him. It’s too much muchness. When he was calm I went back to trying to reset our internet. I’ve had problems off and on with my modem for a while so I thought it might be my problem. Then I look over and Owen is chewing on the blanket I have on the couch. I go to another room to get a blanket and put the other one up. This caused the situation to further tumble down. The blankets have to be in their place. He knows the texture and feel of each one we use. He dragged the blanket I got back to his room and screamed some more. And it felt like one rookie mistake after another. I finally got him calmed down and distracted. I pray it comes on overnight. I pray for calm god my sweet baby O. And I pray for a brand new day. Together we will get through this. One day at a time and keep moving forward. Smiles to all and donut daze!

I'm Lynn Browder. Owen's Mommy. The best moments in time are when I get to see the smile on his face and that giggle come from his heart.
